Paper Twin Peaks Intro

The internet is a weird and wonderful place. Often it is the bastion of cult series and fan favourites and so it is with Twin Peaks, which, even though it only ran for two seasons over 25 years ago, has had a long tail… mainly due to online fandom. So much so, that it led to the 2017 revival Twin Peaks: The Return.

Some beautiful mad man or woman has recreated the entire introduction of Twin Peaks in paper. It’s a joy to see and is sure to please the soul!

Room to Dream Takes Us to Lynch's World

I am a huge David Lynch fan. Ever since I watched Twin Peaks and discovered his filmography I have been in thrall of this most singular of directors. However, Lynch is a private man and not much about his background or where he gets his ideas from has been revealed. Room to Dream is part-memoir, part-biography, which interweaves the story of Lynch alongside his personal reflections, might change all that. The book (and audiobook, which I am currently listening to) have been released today and I am very excited to get into Lynch's world. I'll provide a review once I've finished with the book but based on the first chapter it seems to be positive...

David Lynch Teaches Typing

Sure, we all loved Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet but have they helped you in your day to day life and taught you new skills? No! So why not remedy that with a Mavis Beacon style typing tutorial game, presided over with the face of one David Lynch. David Lynch Teaches Typing is a free to download and play game from Rhino Stew which presents an interesting concept to life, filled with crying babies, unsettling creepy bugs and a fag break in-between.

The First Time (interview) With David Lynch

The BBC is a well respected British public service broadcaster. It produces many shows and often some of the shows are aired once and then rarely aired again. Well luck has shone on fans of singular director David Lynch as a 2013 hour long interview with Matt Everitt about his musical influences has been shared online.

For a link to the radio interview click on the link at the bottom of this article.

In the words of the BBC:

In a rare interview, recorded in 2013, Lynch speaks to Matt Everitt about his formative early musical influences (Chopin and the sound of B36 bombers flying over his childhood home), his passion for Elvis and early rock 'n' roll, directing David Bowie, his love of jazz, how he creates his own unique music and how the imagery and plot of his classic film Blue Velvet was directly inspired by Bobby Vinton's 1963 classic single, which would never sound the same again.
David Lynch, filmmaker, writer and television director and creator of Twin Peak, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead and Wild At Heart discusses the pivotal moments and music that have shaped his life and career.
Lynch is also a musician, having helped create the music for many of his movies (he wrote the lyrics to the Twin Peaks theme - Falling sung by Julee Cruise) as well as solo albums such as The Big Dream - a record as hypnotic and disturbingly beautiful as his films.

The show is only available for 19 days and also only for those in the UK but for those who can access it do as it offers a rare insight into this intensely private man.

Twin Peaks Now in Production

Showtime has just released the production trailer for Twin Peaks and oh my is it awesome. Watching it for the first time my heart was beating furiously and then when they unveiled the iconic sign I got goosebumps all over. I CANNOT WAIT for this formative series.... just a couple of years to go!

The critically-acclaimed, ground breaking television phenomenon TWIN PEAKS returns as a limited series to SHOWTIME in 2017. Currently in production, TWIN PEAKS is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by David Lynch. While the full mystery awaits, fans can expect many familiar faces, including Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® Award nominee Kyle MacLachlan, who reprises his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.
Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town's sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura's killer, the town's secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues...

Twin Beaks- A Sesame Street Parody of Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks was a hugely influential show that changed the way series were made for television. There have been many spoofs but surprisingly Sesame Street did it as part of their Monsterpiece Theater segments. Titled Twin Beaks the sketch features many of the quirky characters of the series were parodied in the segment, including the "Log Lady" (with The Log Bird),  Special Agent Dale Cooper (with Cookie Monster as Agent Cookie) and series creator David Lynch (as David Finch) who dines with Laura (which spoofs Laura Palmer).

Twin Peaks Coming Back in 2016!

I am pleased to announce that Twin Peaks will return in 2016. The announcement was made by Showtime over the weekend, following hints in tweets sent by David Lynch and Mark Frost, the creators of the show. I for one am excited as this series is my favourite television series of all time (after 'Mysterious Cities of Gold' that is)

To quote Showtime:

The groundbreaking television phenomenon, Golden Globe® and Peabody Award-winner TWIN PEAKS will return as a new limited series on SHOWTIME in 2016. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode. Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers and a satisfying conclusion for the series’ passionate fan base.

For viewers hoping to reminisce or for those discovering the series for the first time, SHOWTIME will re-air the first two seasons of TWIN PEAKS, in advance of the new episodes going on air in 2016.
