Kiki Delivery Service Return for Hungry Noodles Commercial

I love Kiki's Delivery Service, it is one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films that deals with growing up and learning responsibility. Well, as part of the ‘Hungry Days’ campaign, aimed at youth, characters from the classic film are presented in modern day Japan. The advertising campaign gives us a chance to see what they are up to. Check out the short 30 second video as I love it and I'm sure you will too!

Kiki's Delivery Service Show at Southwark Playhouse

Southwark Playhouse is performing an adaptation of Kiki’s Delivery Service. The play is adapted from the book by Eiko Kadono but many people will recognise the title from the amazing animated film by Studio Ghibli.

The story follows the adventures of Kiki, a 13 year old witch. Tradition dictates that at this age young witches must leave their home and make a new life for themselves in the real world. With her feline companion Jiji, Kiki sets out to find a place in the world and find her role in it.

The tale is a magical one all about growing up and being yourself in the world. I love the animation and it is one of my favourite Ghibli films, having a daughter has made me even more sentimental and so I am looking forward to seeing this show. As always I will feedback my opinions of it here!

Studio Ghibli Adapts 12th Century

Studio Ghibli is famed around the world for its masterful animation, films like My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service are much loved for their creativity and beauty. Now Ghibli have released a brand new video based on the 12th and 13th century Choju Jinbutsu Giga, 'The Scrolls of Frolicking Animals'. These scrolls are some of the earliest examples of imagery and the Ghibli video keeps to the style and spirit of the original scrolls. It is a wonderful short film and should be seen by lovers of animation everywhere!
